Shrimp Pasta

When you blend in shrimp as America’s favorite seafood with the worldwide passion for pasta dishes, it becomes quite obvious that shrimp pasta is one of the most popular dishes in the US, and the great news is that you really don’t need Italian shrimp to make the best Italian dishes with shrimp.

Buy fresh, unpeeled shrimp and prepare it as shown on the “Cooking Shrimp” page. Whether it is Cajun shrimp pasta or shrimp Alfredo pasta, lemon shrimp pasta or even shrimp scampi pasta, marinating the shrimp is probably the best tip to cooking a great shrimp pasta dish.

Here is a classic and most popular pasta recipe. It will be done in less than 30 minutes and you can impress your family and friends with a high quality seafood meal.

Shrimp Alfredo pasta

1box of pasta (fettuccine pasta, penne pasta any kind of pasta works)
1Jar of Alfredo sauce
1 lb of cleaned, peeled and marinated shrimp
¼ cup white wine (Preferably dry wine like – Chardonnay or Pinot Grigio)
2 sticks of butter
1 lemon
1tbs of parsley (fresh or dry)
1tsp of minced garlic

Boil the pasta. Then remove the shrimp from the marinade. While the pasta is cooking place the 2 sticks of butter in a pan and add the shrimp, lemon juice freshly squeezed and minced garlic and let it simmer on a very low flame. Once the shrimp turned pink add in the wine and let it simmer for a few minutes (no more than 5). Add the Alfredo sauce and the pasta and mix. Add salt and pepper according to your spice tolerance.

Tip: If you are not a great fan of the Alfredo sauce you can follow the same recipe and substitute the Alfredo sauce with pesto sauce and you shall have a delicious Shrimp Pesto Pasta dish.
